How to XAMPP autostart on boot | Windows 10

Hey, viewers! We are back with another interesting & DIY topic for you to must-have during web development or localhost setup on your Windows 10 Laptop.

XAMPP is a software that installs all required technologies in your computer or laptop that makes your machine a local server for web development. This software includes the following:-

  • PHP
  • MySQL
  • FileZilla
  • Mercury
  • Tomcat
  • Apache

These technologies along with NOTEPAD++ or SUBLIME TEXT are enough to start a web development on your computer. We prefer working with sublime text for programming because it is much more user friendly for beginner & it contains a dark theme. We will discuss web development in our upcoming posts elaborately.

Coming back to the topic, let’s follow the steps to make XAMPP autostart in windows 10, 8 & 7.

Step 1

Download XAMPP from the given link: CLICK HERE

You can simply install XAMPP by simply downloading & clicking next & soon… Let us move to step 2.

Step 2

Launch the XAMPP control panel from your installation directory by double-clicking the XAMPP control panel executable file. Then stop all the running XAMPP components by clicking the “Stop” button next to each component.

Step 3

After this, click on the config button & select the required services you need to autostart on boot.

Normally developers require Apache, Tomcat & MySQL to autostart under Autostart of modules section. Then click on the Save button.

Step 4

Create the XAMPP control shortcut by right-clicking the executable file & copy this file so we can paste it later on. Now click  ⊞ Win+R from your keyboard then enter shell:startup on RUN window then click on OK button.

Step 5

Now paste the copied shortcut in the opened folder and your work is done. Just close the window & try restarting the computer. Then enter localhost in a web browser & enjoy developing awesome projects.
